TACTICS OGRE
(Super NES & Sony Playstation) Composers: Hitoshi Sakimoto, Masaharu Iwata & Hayato Matsuo
To be honest, I wasn't really impressed with Tactics Ogre's overall soundtrack. It's not as good as the original Ogre Battle's score despite that it was done by the same people. However, there is one song in particular that struck me, mainly because it's done in that signature Hitoshi Sakimoto style that he's so well-known for.
"Limitation (Breaching the Limits of Light) ~ SNES Version"
Time: 2:43
Size: 2.49 MB
2 loops with fadeout
Comment: This is the most outstanding song from Tactics Ogre and it's very similar to the Ifrit music from Vagrant Story, also composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto. I prefer the SNES version to the PS1 version.
"Limitation (Breaching the Limits of Light) ~ PS1 Version"
Time: 2:39
Size: 2.43 MB
2 loops with fadeout
Comment: This is the version of the same song from the Playstation remake of the game. At first, I couldn't decide which version I liked more, so I made them both available. However, since listening to them more, I can now say that I like the SNES version more.

TALES OF PHANTASIA
(Sony Playstation) Composers: Motoi Sakuraba & Shinji Tamura
Note: These tracks are from the Playstation remake because they are superior in quality to the original Super Famicom versions, and FAR superior to the Gameboy Advance remake's versions. (I mean, what the holy hell happened there??)
"Desolate Road" Time: 2:29
Size: 2.28 MB
2 loops with fadeout
Comment: Note that this is the Playstation version of the song. A slow, soft, western-ish lonely traveling melody. I don't know what this is from in the game because I haven't played it, but it sounds very nice! (And as I mentioned before, I'm a sucker for this type of music.)

"Fighting of the Spirit" Time: 3:01
Size: 2.77 MB
2 loops with fadeout
Comment: I've never played Tales of Phantasia so I can't tell you for sure what part of the game this is from, but it sounds like a battle theme of some kind. It's far and away my favorite song from what I've heard of that game's soundtrack. What I've given you here is the version from the Playstation remake because trust me when I tell you that it sounds a lot better than the original Super Famicom version (especially the "dah-da-da-dah-dah-DAH-da-dah-DAHH" part at the end).

"Fighting of the Spirit (Arranged)" Time: 4:40
Size: 7.76 MB

Comment: An awesome arranged guitar version of this song from the official soundtrack that I found at Galbadia Hotel! Hard to say which I like more.

TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 4: TURTLES IN TIME
(Super NES) Composers: Kazuhiko Uehara & Harumi Ueko
Whether or not you like this game's music might depend on how familiar you are with TMNT and how much you like them. Some of these songs incorporate parts of the TMNT cartoon theme into the music. It's mostly done in pop-rock guitar style.
"Elevator" - Second half of the Technodrome stage.
"Sewer Surfin'" - This is my favorite song in this game.
"Starbase" - This one has a lot of the TMNT theme in it.
"Technodrome" - The first half of the Technodrome. Love the electric guitar riffs in this one.
TENCHI MUYO
(Anime)
"Alchemy of Love" Time: 4:39
Size: 6.40 MB
Automatic ending
Lyrics: English
Comment: The closing credits song of the first Tenchi movie as sung by Nina Hagen and Rick Jude and composed by Christopher Franke and the Berlin Symphonic Film Orchestra. One of my favorites.
"Majesty of Jurai" Time: 2:00
Size: 2.75 MB
Automatic ending
Comment: Not sure what this is from, exactly, but it's a nice short little waltz with a Japanese touch and a lighthearted, romantic quality.
"Mayuka's Theme" Time: 2:33
Size: 3.52 MB
Automatic ending
Comment: I have to confess that I do not really like Tenchi the Movie 2 much at all, but this scene is sort of arresting anyway. This is the music from when Tenchi first encounters Mayuka on the stairs of the shrine. The first part is eerie, but changes to reflect the mood and the mystery of the situation.
"Royal Knights & TV Opening Theme" Time: 5:30
Size: 7.56 MB
Lyrics: English
Automatic ending
Comment: The English version of the opening song from the Tenchi TV series as performed by Sonia (who sings both the Japanese and English versions). I also spliced the "Royal Knights" intro onto the beginning of it because there's almost no break between them on the CD and I think they're both more powerful when heard together. J-Pop/Rock at its finest.
"Ryoko's Theme" Time: 3:38
Size: 5.01 MB
Automatic ending
Comment: This is from the first episode of the OAV. It's a fast-paced, fun song that's used for the scenes where Ryoko chases Tenchi around the school.
"Ryo-Ohki's Theme" Time: 3:23
Size: 4.65 MB
Automatic ending
Comment: This is the opening title theme of the OAV. I have no idea why it's considered "Ryo-Ohki's Theme", but that's what it's called. Doesn't quite have the "punch" of the TV theme, but it's still good and it's more "Japanese" in style.
"Startica" Time: 3:24
Size: 4.69 MB
Lyrics: Unknown
Automatic ending
Comment: The music from the opening scene of Tenchi the Movie 2 where the demon Yuzuha (who was the only thing I really liked about that movie besides the music) is banished from the Startica festival to her own dimension. Very haunting and disturbing with the vocals and chanting, though I'm unsure of the language they're sung in.
"Teardrop of Royal Family" Time: 5:24
Size: 7.43 MB
Automatic ending
Comment: I don't remember exactly what this is from, either, but it's a very sad melody that gets really uplifting at the end. Well worth it if you're patient.
TERRANIGMA
(Super NES) Composers: Miyoko Kobayashi & Masanori Hikichi
"Dark Side Field" - This one is just...wow. Mind-blowing. When I heard this one for the first time, without even having played the game it just totally absorbed me.
"Last Dream" - Also called "Return to Mother Earth". This is the ending song that was suggested by a site reader for the ending songs article. I've really grown to like it quite a bit since listening to it a few times.
"Top of Saint Mountain" - Heard this one at work the other day when Winamp's random shuffler played it, and I was quite impressed with it.
THUNDER FORCE 3
(Sega Genesis)
"Back to the Fire" - Thunder Force 3 has the honor of being the first Sega Genesis game to have music featured on this page. Thanks go to Crawl for introducing me to these songs.
"Venus Fire" - This one's pretty cool and I like it more than the other one. Crawl tells me it's from the level with the "wavy" background.
TIN STAR
(Super NES)
Why does it seem like I'm the only person in the world who's played this game and considers it one of their favorites? Try finding information on it. It's like...impossible. Software Creations did some really excellent SNES soundtracks, and the title music on this one has to be heard to be believed.
"Main Theme" - The most commonly-heard stage level music in the game. Has a galloping fast pace and all those great wild west instruments.
"Title Theme" - I only found one SPC set of Tin Star's music and it was missing this song!!! This is the best song in the game, so I recorded it directly from an SNES with the line-in port. Download it, now!
