Honen is very conflicted in these episodes. He realizes that Deuce is exactly the type of woman he could get along with: She's strong, fearless, intelligent, and unlike his previous love Leona, she shares his love of machines and science. However, he remains skeptical that he could ever truly give up being a villain and be accepted by others for what he is.
