FEATHERS IN THE OCEAN

The cold wind howls
Like the call of the unknown
Without a sound
I begin to walk alone

Upon the sea I'll drift
Away from here as time shifts
I'll wade into the tide
And vanish in the foam

Now I ask if what I'd seen
Was for real
Was it a dream?
It would seem
That I've been wrong
But I don't know
Just how far to go

All I see are feathers in the ocean

I'm in despair
On this shore I am marooned
I sit and stare
At the waning sun and moon

Upon the cliffs I watch
As waves batter these jagged rocks
I stare out at the sea
And hope I'll see you soon

And as I watch the sun go down
I stand up and turn around
I begin to walk away
One last gaze...
Over my shoulder

And all I see are feathers in the ocean
