Time Mysteries: Inheritance Remastered (2015 - PC)

A remastered version of the first game in the Time Mysteries series that is unfortunately the worst of the bunch. Time Mysteries 2 is the best. 3 isn't as good as 2, but was still better than this.

The hidden object scenes were often so dark I could barely see anything. I had to resort to clicking everywhere to find things on many occasions. Some HO scenes have lighting that constantly dims and brightens, which forces you to wait every few moments to be able to see what you're looking at. Others were too blurry.

I liked how in the sequels you could change something in the past and it would affect the future, and you'd travel back and forth between different time periods. In this one, you just travel to a time period, find a bunch of items, then go to another time period.

The ending doesn't jive with its sequels. The lute music in the medieval chapters is distracting. Character facial animations are downright horrifying. There's no bonus chapter, but that's almost a blessing. I just wanted it to be over by the end of the main game.

1.5/5
