Radiant Silvergun (Saturn)

Cross-Series (R-Type): The boss of 3-C is based on the ship from R-Type. It has a fat single shot that it needs to charge. It also has the R-Type II style wave charge shot. It has a satellite orb in front of it as a shield (reference to the force). It fires little missiles. And it has the three power ups that you can get in R-Type: Lasers that bounce off walls at 45 degrees, attacks that go along the walls, and a straightfoward round shot. (Credit: Crawl and 1000)
Status: TRUE: Verified by FO. There are too many similarities for it to be a coincidence.

Cross-Series (Final Fantasy Tactics): One of the pieces of music from this game is taken from Final Fantasy Tactics, the "2C thru E" theme. They both have the same composer (Hitoshi Sakimoto). (Credit: Crawl and 1000)
Status: TRUE: Verified by FO.

Cross-Series (Yars Revenge): Walk off the Flying Saucer Mesa and drop the Chai. The Yar from Yars Revenge will appear.
Status: TRUE: Verified by FO.

Programmers: Howard Scott Warshaw hid his initials in this game, too. I think you have to get the Yar to appear and then beat the game. (Credit: Kairobi King)
Status: TRUE: Verified by FO.

Rampart (FC)

Cross-Series (Wai Wai World): The Famicom version is different from the NES version because it was made by Konami. In the main menu for the Famicom version, the icon you use to select options is Konami Man's head. (Credit: Arnold & Dire 51)
Status: TRUE: Verified by the OPCFG.

Status: Unverified

Return Fire (PS1)

Music/Movie (Various): Return Fire uses classical music for a lot of its tracks, including, "Flight of the Valkyries", "Overture of 1812", and "The William Tell Overture". Not only are these cameos in themselves, but flying in a helicopter with "Ride of the Valkyries" playing is taken from a scene in Apocalypse Now. (Credit: Deathspork)
Status: Unverified

Status: TRUE: Verified by FO. (Screenshot) proves it.

Cross-Series (Thousand Arms): In the town of Oasis there's a sign that says something like, "THOUSAN...AR...I can't read it, the sign is too dirty!" I'm sure that it's supposed to say THOUSAND ARMS, another PS1 game made by Atlus.

Programmers: Some treasure chests sing, "Atlus USA!" when you try to open them.
Status: TRUE: Verified by FO.

Comics (Spawn): The puppet you get through the mail-order club, Dark Knight, is clearly a rip-off of Todd McFarlane's Spawn. He's like a super-deformed version of Spawn. (Screenshot)
Status: TRUE: If the similar looks aren't enough evidence that someone who worked on this game was a fan of Spawn, the comic book itself is spoofed when Cornet looks at a bookshelf and says, "Look at all the comic books! They even have SPOON #!" That MUST be a spoof of Spawn. Otherwise, it doesn't make any sense. (Screenshot)

Ridge Racer (PS1)

Cross-Series (Galaxian): You play a mini version of Galaxian while the game is loading (kill all the Galaxians to unlock hidden cars!) (Credit: Dire 51)
Status: Unverified

TV Shows (Transformers): One of the trucks on the side of the road is based on the famous Autobot Leader Optimus Prime from Transformers. There's also, supposedly, a reference to the Transformers movie and Peter Cullen, the voice actor of Optimus Prime, in a movie theater on one of the courses.
Status: TRUE: Several sources have confirmed this is true, including the (ZMFTS Homepage).

One of them is Pooka from Dig Dug, another is Rally-X. FO's Note: "Helter Skelter" is a Beatles song, and "Out of the Blue" is an Electric Light Orchestra album title. Someone must like classic rock! (Credit: Michael Morissette)

Kotetsu's ship also has the American Super NES controller buttons on the side of the front end.
